week 9

Today there was no lecture at the computer lab..but we were given a task to be completed..

we have to create an activity based on the 4 skills by using the internet skills that we had been taught, which are photo editing, audio editing and video editing in order to teach the young learners..the task have to be done in group..my group members are kak niza, eliana and asma..

i decided to use photo editing and focused on listening skills in order to teach the young learners..it is not a merely an activity but we have to take into account the proficiency of the pupils, the skill chosen and the rationale of the activity used..it is important to create an activity that suits the level of proficiency so that the activity would no be too easy or to difficult for the pupils..

then we were give a task for presentation pupose that requires us to discuss it in class later..i like this kind of activity since we have been here we rarely talk in front that it may affect our use of english in our daily life..

week 8

Today class was started off with the display of e-Book that is meant to teach young learners. I was impressed with the show for it has colourful and bright drawing pictures that may attract young learners to pay attention during the show. I think it also will enhance the pupils’ understanding of the topic or theme introduced for they are taught in a relaxed condition. The use of variety light and vivid colours will help them to focus on the subject matter of the presentation. Other than that, the simple and repeated sentence structures suit the early language learners for the structures will be easily consolidated.
I like the presentation in a sense that it guides me towards my next task which is the e-Book creation, for instance the type of font that is suitable for he young learners. This is significant for me to note that the usage of comic sans font will assist pupils to integrate in the learning process because it is similar to their writing.

Week 7

here now..we are on holiday..however, we are set with another task which is video editing..in this task, my partner, Husna and me did a video on nature..that everything in this world has its own partner is undeniable..even though it was a holiday, but we still discussed the task via yahoo messenger..it makes things easier too..we should thank for it because it really helps us out..we found pictures before we went back and discuss the arrangement of the video during the holidays..however, i admit that sometimes our messages is not getting across..it is one of the drawback that i figured out..maybe it would be much easier if we sit together and discuss so that we can fix things together..i really thanked to husna for putting a verse from the Holy Quran to emphasize the meaning of the video that will make others understand better of the video..

week 6

this week we have to complete or video editing task whereby, we are going to work in a group of 5 in order to download the respective episode of ' So You Think You Can Dance' season 2 in order to ectract the dancing part to make it more enjoyable to watch it by scraping the voices of the comperes.

my group members are kamarul, rimala, ayuni and zhafarina. it is quite difficult to discuss and upload the task since this is our last week before we have our semester break..most of us are going back early..so we decided to assign each of us task to do and compile it together via yahoo messenger..

rimaa and me did the video downloading process..This is my first time to note that i have to have a real player 11 software in order to download video from the 8tv chanel..kamarul did the cutting processes..meanwhile ayuni ad zhafharina did the uploading process and tutorial. i am glad that yahoo messenger made our discussion more easy that we can ask each other views about our ideas..even though we are at our hometown, we still have the chance to complete the task..

week 5

Sometimes, when we are listening to our favourite songs we tend to leap from one part to another in order to listen only to the part that we like. The use of Audacity software assists me myself to edit the audio sounds in other to change it desirably. It works well since it displays the pitch of the parts of the song through its sound wave that make it easier for me to select the part that I want to cut.
The soft ware teaches me to put some effects in my favourite song, for instance, I choose the song, “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely” by “Backstreet Boys”. During the process of editing, I cut certain parts and put echo effect in the song so that it produces the sound according to my interest. I don’t have to use the cursor to rewind or forward the song anymore!!

week 4

The photo editing is rather challenging for me..to be honest i'm not a kind of person who really like pushing myself to do my own task..

i only completed my task in 1 hour since i did not know that we have to upload it saturday before the midnight..luckily i had just come back from visiting my father from IJN that my housemates asked me whether i ve done my photo editing work..then i rushed to finish it right away..

in one and a half hour i learnt how to crop, free transform, jump to image ready, save it and so on..i have to learn a lot since i do not really know how to use adobe photoshop..it seems complicated but thankfully i managed to settle it down eventually..i decided to use michael schumacher wallpaper with his f1 car and put my picture on the car's tyre..i am a big fan of him that learning to do this kind of thing makes me feel so elated and i want to learn more on editing photos so that i can edit my favourite photos..

Today we learnt about photo editing and plus, we were assigned with the third assignment, which is the e-Book. We are going to explore and create our own online reading material and display it to other people so that we would be able to produce a creative, colorful and tempting online reading material. Even though it’s a new thing for me, I figured out it is intriguing since it is related to what is current for the learners in order to learn language in an exciting way. So that the use of e-Book will attract the young learners to keep reading for they will be fascinated with the variety colourful illustrations. Furthermore, the use of colourful illustrations will enhance their understanding of the story line.
We discover that there are a lot of website that supply us with beautiful pictures to put in our e-Book, for instance, Flickr, Photo Bucket and Webshots. We also have to find out the software that will assist us to do photo editing, such as how to do red-eye-remover, how to make it smoother and so on. The functions of photo editing give us chances to the ranges of ways to come up with the most beguiling photos to capture pupils’ attention.
Other than that, we have to sit in a group thirteen in order to discuss the children’s capacity for indirect learning. Our group’s focus was the task versus language gain of the students, whereby, it is concerned with the subconscious and conscious learning. After that we have to present our input to our fellow friends of what are included in the particular topic. We are glad that we get positive feedback from Pn Foziah. I like this kind of activity for it helps us to brainstorm and cooperate with each other as well as share the information that we obtained throughout the discussion process.
